Tottenham plotting £15m bid for Norwich City’s teenage star Max Aarons

TOTTENHAM could bolster their squad by making a £15million move for Norwich prospect Max Aarons.

The right-back has been a revelation for the Championship promotion hopefuls despite only making his senior debut in August.

A string of teams are watching Aarons, 18, with Spurs attending all of his matches and they are considering a formal offer.

German club Red Bull Leipzig are also keen.

Norwich are under no financial pressure to sell, having pocketed £33m for James Maddison and Josh Murphy last summer.

Spurs’ only hope of signing Aarons next month would be to then loan him straight back to the Canaries for their promotion push.

Tottenham make Max Aarons top transfer target in summer but have Plan B

Tottenham have already started devising a list of transfer targets in the summer as they look to back Jose Mourinho in the market

Tottenham have made Norwich ace Max Aarons their top target in the summer as they eye up options at right-back.

Spurs have been interested in the full-back for some time but understand that the Canaries would never let him leave halfway through the season.

Daniel Farke's men are bottom of the Premier League but hope is not over that they could survive the drop - despite being seven points adrift.

Regardless, Aarons has courted the attention of several clubs and is viewed as a modern-day full-back who can contribute in attack as well as defence.

Spurs never replaced Kieran Trippier last summer, who joined Atletico Madrid, and were happy to go with Serge Aurier as their main man.

However, a series of poor performances have convinced north London chiefs that the Frenchman is not the answer.

According to Football Insider, Aarons is being readied for a summer move from Norwich - whether they go down or not.

It is reported that groundwork has already been laid over a transfer for the 20-year-old.

But if a move fails then a £4m transfer for West Brom's Nathan Ferguson looks likely to go ahead.

The 19-year-old has enjoyed a fine campaign with the Baggies, where Slaven Bilic has successfully converted the youngster to a right-back role.

A deal with Crystal Palace had been agreed in January but it collapsed after the Eagles tried to renegotiate the price.

It has allowed the likes of Spurs to jump ahead of the queue.

And even if Aarons is signed, a transfer has still been touted.

Tottenham have been looking at the option of signing two right-backs this summer with Aurier's form throwing his future in doubt.

Back-up option Kyle Walker-Peters could be allowed to leave permanently after signing for Southampton on loan this January.

The defender turns 23 this season but has made just 12 appearances for Spurs in the Premier League.
